At WOCON'S recent FRENCH EMBASSY IN NIGERIA-funded creative arts project tagged 'THREADS OF FREEDOM' where survivors of human trafficking expressed their lived experiences through arts, music and poetry. Final Exhibition was held at Freedom Park, Broad Street, Lagos island on 7th August 2025 in commemoration of 2025 WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS

WOCON as State Coordinating office of Network Against Child Trafficking Abuse & Labour (NACTAL) LAGOS CHAPTER was present with other NGOs and Networks to celebrate this year's WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS with key stakeholders in the space and other members of NACTAL LAGOS CHAPTER in a joint Awareness Walk being an annual event to raise awareness against Trafficking in Persons and join forces to demand justice for victims

HUMAN TRAFFICKING /EYEFON PROJECT

On Tuesday 2nd May 2023 WOCON partnered with Denny Social Welfare Hub through the Nigerian Eonen  Association Verona, on the "EYEFON" project co-funded by Ministero Dell' Interno, Nigeria Women Association Verona, Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene, Nigeria.

Project sensitized the Lafiaji community on the island against the dangers of Irregular migration and Trafficking in persons.

Stakeholders present included community elders, male and female, faith based leaders such as pastor, Imam and a female traditional leader, Yeye Olokun.

WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSON

July 30, 2023 to August 14, 2023

World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is a global observance held on July 30th each year to raise awareness about the alarming issue of human trafficking. It serves as a reminder to take collective action to prevent this crime, protect victims, and prosecute those responsible.

WOCON is passionate about engaging our communities in campaigns, and initiatives organized often to shed light on the plight of trafficking victims and promote efforts to eradicate this violation of human rights.
Call to action is: STOP THE STIGMATIZATION OF TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS.

Awareness Raising Programme: "Risks of Human Trafficking & Irregular Migration to Europe"

WOCON collaborated with Nigeria Women Association Verona Italy and Denny Welfare Hub Lagos, to raise awareness on human trafficking and irregular migration by intercepting groups of parents of adolescents as a safeguarding action to prevent them from becoming victims of human Trafficking and Irregular migration.
 
The groups included male and female community elders, women groups including market women and  young women who are parents in 'Lafiaji' area of Lagos State.
