WOCON CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD 2025 WiTH FEMALE STUDENTS OF JOLAS SCHOOL, OBALENDE, LAGOS STATE

WOCON celebrated this year's International Day of the Girl Child (2025) at Jonas School, a private secondary school in Obalende on Lagos island, on sessions relating to this year's Theme - *The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis* .

The event brought together SS2 and SS3 students for interactive sessions centered around this year's theme: *"The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis."*

During the programme, participants explored the pivotal role girls play in driving positive change in their communities. The female students were encouraged to harness their voices to shape a brighter future for themselves and those without a voice, particularly girls in rural areas and in conflict situations.

The students were also urged to join efforts to combat exploitation, abuse, discrimination and violence against girls worldwide.

This celebration aimed to empower young girls to become leaders and agents of change, promoting equality and a safer, more inclusive world for all.
