Gender and Transformative Leadership Traning in Nigeria

United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in collaboration with Rutgers University, four African Universities (Liberia, the Gambia, Ghana and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria) developed a training manual on Gender and Transformative Leadership for training grassroots women for increased female participation in leadership and governance in the West African sub-region. With the support from the UNDP Democratic Governance for Development (DGD) II project, funded by the UK Aid; the European Union (EU) and the government of Canada, UNESCO Abuja Nigeria organised a workshop to finalise the Training Manual from September at Onyx Hotel Abuja.  The training of trainers workshop for the six geo-political zones was kick-started with the TOT for the South West zone held at Dover Hotel, Lekki phase II on October 21 and 22, 2014.
