WOCON visit MDA s in OGUN State

WOCON team visited the Ogun State Federal Ministry of Labour and the State Ministry of Women affairs and social development.

The visit was aimed at renewing WOCON's commitment to the empowerment of women and children's right. The controller of the FML, Mr. Fatoki warmly welcomed the team, lauded their efforts in the enforcement of women and children's right and pledged their continuous collaboration with the organization.

We will like to officially announce the passing away of our dearly beloved Mother, Chief (Mrs.) Bisi Olateru-Olagbegi who slept in the Lord on Thursday 17th of December 2015 after battling with a prolonged illness .

PREVENTING IILEGAL MIGRATION AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN SEME AND IDIROKO SPONSORED BY INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION ON MIGRATION WITH SUPPORT FROM EU AND CARRIED OUT BY WOCON

The International Organization on Migration sponsored the project with support from the European Union in sensitizing members of the communities in seme and idiroko border towns where there is a high prevalence of Human trafficking and Illegal migration. on the 28th of August 2015 the WOCON team organized a press conference and policy dialogue on this issue. In attendance were  the Zonal Coordinator NAPTIP Mr.  Famakin, Seme Comptroller Nigeria Immigration Service and the Police Force Seme.

The International Organization on Migration sponsored project on PREVENTION OF ILLEGAL MIGRATION & TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS" funded by the EUROPEAN UNION and implemented by Women Consortium of Nigeria.

....."Standing to the right is Women Consortium of Nigeria (WOCON)'s Treasurer/Chief Accountant, Mr. Kunle Adeogun as he receives a signed copy of the MOU from the Chief of Mission, International Office of Migration (IOM), Ms. Enira Krdzalic (standing left) in Abuja last week, where the final signing formalities of the newly-awarded Project on "PREVENTION OF ILLEGAL MIGRATION & TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS" by IOM to WOCON was held.
