Dealing with Lagos' Traffic/ Wartezeiten im Stau überbrücken

Traffic in Lagos can be crazy! For a way that would take 30 minutes without traffic you can spend hours- especially in the evening, when everybody is going home from work from Island. To be honest, sometimes I think it would be faster to walk (but don’t try it o!). Either you face it or you find something to do on Island until it is around 10pm (which is not possible if you have a family waiting for you at home or a long way or are sceptic of using public transport after darkness).

Taking it with humour/Es mit Humor nehmen

One must just admire the creativity that Nigerians show when it comes to express their disapproval of Nigerian Power Policy. I am still laughing when I hear people referring to NEPA (National Electronic Power Authority) as  “Never Expect Power Anytime”, now known as  PHCN (Power Holding Company of Nigeria) or “Please Have Candles Nearby” (but people normally still use NEPA, when referring to electricity)

Celebrating the girl-child- By Jumoke Rasak

I got no bones like Big Mike,
To Life, Education and Expression I have a right
Allow me sing, dance and fly, it affords me strength to be real and helps me understand why I am ME.
I am human first before being female
So do not shut me down because I am a 'fe' before the 'male'
I am the girl child,
The future of the world,
The voice of the unborn,
The womb that will bare tomorrow,
And I will bring forth ONLY what you fill me with
...So choose wisely.
